Reflection on Psalms 56

 

COVID-19, typhoon, earthquake, fire - a lot of things are happening beyond our control and this can easily lead me to worry, be anxious, be depressed, and panic.

BUT praise God for speaking to me through His word. In this Psalm 56, David experienced fear and anxiety but he reminded himself to trust in God. This is a great reminder for me to declare that against all odds, I must continue to trust in the Lord and recognize that He is sovereign. There is nothing that can happen in my life that God will not know nor will not be in control of. It may be true that a lot of bad things are happening, yet God is in the midst of it all and He has a plan and a purpose for everything. — Faith
